Kristin Bruning, M.D.
Kristin Bruning, M.D. is a board certified Child / Adolescent and General Psychiatrist. Prior to returning home to New York in 2007, Dr. Bruning served as faculty in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Brown University. There she headed the consultation liaison service at Hasbro Children’s Hospital, worked in an innovative day treatment program for children with severe combined medical- psychological disorders, and led group for teenage siblings of children with disabilities. She participated in several research studies related to pediatric Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Depression and Bipolar Disorder. In 2007, Dr. Bruning received the Award for Outstanding Service to the Pediatric Anxiety Research Clinic at Brown University. In 2015, Dr Bruning completed the New York State Partners in Policymaking course- a program whose mission is to increase advocacy for people with disabilities. Dr. Bruning maintains her own daily meditation practice and actively furthers her mindfulness education via retreats, workshops, lectures and readings. She is certified in the “.b” mindfulness program for teens and as a Koru Mindfulness Instructor. Dr. Bruning maintains a private practice in Huntington, NY.
